I. KEY JOB DUTIES
Role Purpose
We are seeking a sharp, curious, and highly logical Game Research Assistant to join our Level Analysis team. You don’t need prior experience in games — what we’re looking for is someone who thinks in systems, patterns, and logic.
This is a launchpad role for recent graduates in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related analytical disciplines — especially those who enjoy puzzles, logic games, or reverse-engineering how things work.
Key Responsibilities
Deconstruct Game Levels: Analyze mobile puzzle levels (e.g., block puzzles, match-3, logic games) and identify logical patterns, solving strategies, or potential failure paths.
Structure Game Data: Organize level attributes (grid size, move count, block types, traps, etc.) into frameworks or spreadsheets for pattern analysis.
Simulate Solving Paths: Deduce optimal solving routes using logic, time constraints, and object interactions.
Evaluate Algorithmic Difficulty: Score levels based on rules, constraints, and decision complexity.
Support AI-assisted Game Tools: Help feed structured data into level analysis and balancing tools.
Study Game Mechanics: Learn and summarize how different mobile games structure their level systems and puzzle logics.
II. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT / SKILLS
Core Capabilities (Must-Have)
Strong Logical Reasoning: Can break problems into parts and think in “if-this-then-that” chains.
Pattern Recognition: Ability to identify similarities and anomalies across complex data or gameplay systems.
Basic Algorithm Understanding: Knows foundational CS ideas like graphs, trees, recursion, brute-force vs. greedy logic, etc.
Puzzle-Solving Mindset: Likes Sudoku, escape rooms, Tetris, Sokoban, or solving step-based challenges.
Comfort with Structuring Data: Experience with Excel, Airtable, or any form of structured spreadsheets.
Basic Scripting Logic (Bonus): Python, JavaScript, or any form of pseudocode used in solving logical problems.
Ideal Background
Recent graduate in:
Computer Science / Software Engineering
Applied Mathematics / Statistics
Data Science / Machine Learning
Physics or Logic-heavy disciplines
No prior game industry experience required — just a demonstrated ability to think clearly and solve logically.
